Iron Horse

Iron Horse is a brew pub located in downtown Missoula, MT. Their current logo features a train, a vintage typeface, and a bold maroon color that reflects the city’s college team, the Montana Griz. While that seems fitting enough with Missoula being a college town, Iron Horses’ branding is starting to appeal more to an older crowd, when they could be targeting the younger population that helps keep the night scene alive. With this rebrand, my goal was to play up the steam locomotive iconography that is Iron Horses’ namesake, while keeping the western grunge feel that characterizes the soul of the city.
